Jessica Simpson Reveals New Documentary About Her Life

The feature will be directed by BAFTA and Grammy nominee Joe Pearlman and will stream on Netflix in 2027.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Jessica Simpson is preparing to give fans another close look at her life through a new documentary that will explore her personal and professional journey.

The upcoming feature is being directed by BAFTA and Grammy nominee Joe Pearlman and is scheduled to arrive on Netflix in 2027.

Pearlman has previously worked on acclaimed documentaries and series including Robbie Williams, Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, and Mourinho, a three-part project focused on the former Chelsea soccer manager.

More than two decades have passed since Simpson became a reality television sensation with Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. The series followed her marriage to 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey and aired for three seasons between 2003 and 2005.

Since then, Simpson has sold more than 20 million albums around the world, built a major celebrity licensing business and released her bestselling memoir Open Book.

After stepping away from the spotlight for a period, she returned to music and live performances last year with two Nashville Canyon EPs.

She has also appeared as a guest star on All's Fair, the legal drama led by Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close.

Simpson was married to former NFL player Eric Johnson from 2014 until they separated in early 2025. The former couple have three children together, daughters Maxwell Drew and Birdie Mae, as well as their son Ace Knute.
