BTS have begun the closing stretch of their North American tour with the first of four packed concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The four date residency will complete a massive 31 show journey through 12 regions across North America, attracting an estimated total audience of 1.7 million people.
The historic 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' has delivered several major milestones and is now the most financially successful tour of the group’s career. According to Billboard Boxscore, the trek earned more than $433 million and moved 2.3 million tickets during its opening 38 international concerts. The achievement made BTS just the third act ever, following Beyoncé and Bad Bunny, to generate over $100 million in more than one calendar month.
After opening in Tampa, the tour visited leading destinations such as El Paso, Mexico City, Las Vegas, Toronto and Chicago before reaching Los Angeles. Every location received different additions from the band’s extensive catalogue, along with celebrations taking place throughout each city. Government officials recognised the concerts through formal declarations, while notable buildings glowed in purple and ARIRANG red. Los Angeles also officially named the opening week of September "BTS Week."
Fans in New York and Las Vegas were also offered interactive activities through 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG.' The programme brought together cultural partnerships, displays and hands on experiences at prominent public locations including Grand Central Terminal and Rockefeller Center.
The North American concerts arrived after BTS released their fifth studio record, ARIRANG, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1. The project was led by "SWIM," which also topped the Billboard Hot 100. Once the final SoFi Stadium performance takes place on September 6, BTS will bring the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' to Latin America the following month as their worldwide stadium journey continues.
