Travis Scott is being sued over allegations that he assaulted and threatened members of a charter yacht crew during an incident in Miami two years ago.
While the rapper was arrested at Miami Beach Marina in June 2024 on suspicion of disorderly intoxication and trespassing, prosecutors ultimately chose not to file criminal charges.
Now, yacht captain Adrian Frometa and charter managers John Steve Holguin and Mirnesa Hasanovic have filed a civil lawsuit accusing Scott of assault and other misconduct.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by Billboard, Scott chartered the 105 foot yacht Carpe Diem on 19 June 2024 for a trip along the Miami coastline with three female guests.
Frometa, who says he was the only crew member on board at the beginning of the trip, alleges Scott became heavily intoxicated and increasingly aggressive as the evening progressed. After deciding to cut the charter short, the captain claims Scott refused to leave the yacht once it returned to the marina.
"Without any warning, Scott pushed Frometa from behind and then struck him with a closed fist to his neck and upper chest," the lawsuit states. "Scott repeatedly threatened Frometa, including by stating that Frometa was 'dead' and that Scott was 'going to kill' him."
Frometa then contacted Hasanovic and Holguin for assistance. The lawsuit claims another confrontation followed, during which Holguin says he was knocked to the ground. Hasanovic and Holguin allegedly locked themselves inside the yacht while Scott "screamed they were 'dead'" and tried to force open a glass door as they held it closed from inside.
Police later arrived at the marina and took Scott into custody.
After the incident, the "Sicko Mode" rapper released merchandise featuring his mug shot. According to Frometa, Hasanovic, and Holguin, the move "made light of the incident and the harm caused".
The three plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages, accusing Scott of assault, battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
